In short:
ak-docs-seekerfetches current docs for a library or framework, for one feature or the whole library, and sums them up for you. It does not hand off to another skill: once it has read the docs, you go back to what you were doing. When it has to infer from the repo code instead of official docs, it says so.
Disclosure: I maintain AgentKit and have an affiliate relationship with it: the AgentKit link in this post is an affiliate link; buying through it gets you 30% off.
Summary
Use it when you need the latest API or features of a library, need docs for one specific older version, or are just starting with a framework. You do not need it when the answer does not depend on any library's docs.

D --> EFour things to know to use it well:
| Concept | Question | Example |
|---|---|---|
| By topic or whole library | Are you asking about one feature, or do you want the whole library? | date picker in shadcn/ui is by topic, fast and cheap on tokens. Documentation for Next.js is the whole library, more complete but slower. |
| llms.txt on context7.com | Where do the docs come from? | Ask about the shadcn/ui date picker and it fetches context7.com/shadcn-ui/ui/llms.txt?topic=date, which holds only a few links on that exact part. |
| Fallback chain | What does it do when it finds no docs? | It tries the whole library's llms.txt, then searches the web for an llms.txt, then clones the repo and reads it with Repomix. With no repo, a research agent gathers from the official site, blogs and tutorials. |
| Official links read directly | Do you already have an official docs link? | Give it the link to the Next.js cache config page and it reads that page directly, checks it matches the version you use, and reuses the result for the rest of that task. |
Trade-off: the by-topic path is the fastest and cheapest on tokens, while the repo path is much slower (a few minutes), costs more tokens and is only inferred from code.
