In short:
ak-mintlifyedits and checks Mintlify docs sites: adding pages, changing the look, building an API section, making docs AI-friendly, or putting docs online. It reads the existing site first, then runs the check commands the project already has. It does not install the CLI globally, does not scaffold a new site just to edit one page, and does not report a deploy as done without proof.

Summary
Use it when you have a docs site built on Mintlify and need to add pages, change the look, build an API section, or put the docs online. You do not need it if you have no Mintlify site and do not plan to create one.

C --> D["Installed check commands pass"]
B --> E["Deploy to the target you name"]
E --> F["Proof the site is live"]It sticks to 4 principles:
| Principle | Question | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Read the site first | How is your site built? | Opens the docs folder, package.json, lockfile, docs.json and navigation before picking a command |
| Six work areas | Which area does your task belong to? | Config, content, navigation, OpenAPI, deploy, AI (llms.txt, open-in-AI menu, MCP) |
| Match the installed version | Is this config example still right for my Mintlify version? | Checks the project's CLI help and the docs for that version instead of pasting an old example |
| Check after editing | What evidence shows the edit broke nothing? | mint validate passes, mint broken-links finds no broken links, render reviewed if the layout changed |
If the project already has a preview running, it reuses it. For any process it starts itself, it records the command, PID and port, and stops it when the work is done.
Sample prompt for adding a new page:
/ak-mintlify Add a "Webhooks" page to the <product name> docs in <docs folder>.
Content: how to register a webhook, a sample payload, how to verify the signature.
Constraints: put it in the existing "Guides" group in navigation, do not change the theme.
Done when: the project's validate and broken-links commands pass.This skill has no flags. After the command name you write the task, optionally followed by a path in the project, or you simply describe the task in words.
