Pi is a minimal coding agent: four default tools, and no subagents, plan mode or per-tool-call approval in the core. Criteria for deciding whether to use Pi, and how it differs from Oh-my-pi (OMP) and Claude Code.
Series Inside Pi · Part 1 of 2Install Pi, decide on project trust, sign in to a model, hand it a small task in your repo and resume the session the next day. Each step has a check, plus how to run Pi in Docker for safety.
Series Inside Pi · Part 2 of 2Advisor in Oh-my-pi (OMP) is a review loop running beside the main agent for the whole session. This guide takes apart its severity levels and note delivery, then compares it with Advisor in Claude Code and AgentKit.
Series Inside OMP · Part 3 of 3Oh-my-pi (OMP) /plan locks the session read-only, AgentKit ak-plan writes the plan to files. When to use which, why not to nest the two commands, and how to run them in sequence.
Series Inside OMP · Part 2 of 3Roles in Oh-my-pi (OMP) are routing aliases, not agents. How to assign models by workload, set fallbacks for when a model fails, and read back which model is actually running in a session.
