In short:
ak-youtubepulls a video's data through the VidCap API (info, captions, comments, AI summary), then rewrites it into a blog post, an infographic or social posts. Every quote is tied to a timestamp in the video. If it cannot get the captions, it says they are missing instead of making up content.
Disclosure: I maintain AgentKit and have an affiliate relationship with it: the AgentKit link in this post is an affiliate link; buying through it gets you 30% off.
Summary
Use it when you have a YouTube link and want to reuse its content, or just need the captions and comments to read yourself. The machine needs a VidCap API key in the VIDCAP_API_KEY environment variable.

| Concept | Question | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Subcommand | What do you want this video to become? | blog produces an SEO-ready Markdown post, infographic an HTML page with a PNG image, social posts for each platform |
| Extraction or conversion | Do you need the video's raw data, or a rewritten product? | "Get the captions and top comments" is extraction; blog <link> is conversion |
| Timestamped evidence | Which part of the video does this sentence come from? | A quote carries the timestamp 12:30, auto-generated captions are flagged, added ideas are kept apart from the speaker's words |
| Transcript reuse | Do the captions have to be fetched again? | Same video ID, same language, same version means reuse; if any of the three differs, it fetches fresh |
The syntax is the subcommand, then the video link: /ak-youtube blog <link>. Without a subcommand, you describe in words what to fetch.
Sample prompt for turning a video into a blog post:
/ak-youtube blog https://youtube.com/watch?v=<id>
The video is about <topic>, in English.
Tone: casual. Readers: <your blog's readers>.
Every quote must be tied to a timestamp in the video. This skill has no flags.
